I’ve never had issues with Sixt before, but lately, my frustrations have been directed toward the booking system. If this continues, I’ll have to give a 3-star and consider switching to another company after 3 years of only using Sixt for car rental and car sharing.
This time, I specifically booked the BMW Series 1 at the Central Station location because it offered winter tires at an affordable price. However, upon arrival, I discovered that the system doesn’t accurately reflect the availability of cars with winter tires. As a result, I had to pay significantly more for an upgrade (that I didn’t want to but was the only option with winter tyres) to get what I needed (€600 -> €870).
Additionally, the process at Central Station is inconvenient because you have to walk in the rain to reach the garage. I’ll avoid this location and choose Schiphol instead, as it’s much more convenient.
That said, the staff are always friendly and happy to help, which I truly appreciate.
