A week after I returned, I want to share my experience with SIXT (Get your car) at Larnaca airport. I also had some questions before my vacation and I think what I write here will be useful to others.
I booked the car a week in advance on the DiscoverCars platform. I chose the Get Your Car provider, although it had poor reviews on the quality of the car.
I paid 53 euros for a Ford Focus (4 days) with airport pickup.
I took out full insurance with DiscoverCars - 40 euros for 4 days. First time. Right-hand drive - I didn't want to risk it. Beforehand, I called the Sixt representative at Larnaca airport to check if full insurance with DiscoverCars is valid with them. They confirmed that it is and that with them the cost of full insurance is approximately 16-17 euros per day. The difference from the insurance offered by SIXT was that if something happened, I would pay everything and ask DiscoverCars for the money.
I arrived at the airport, showed up at the SIXT counter, they told me that the Ford was not available, they tried to push me a higher class car for an extra 20-30 euros per day... I wasn't interested, so I ended up getting a SEAT. In the parking lot, the guy with the cars gave me a Toyota Corolla hybrid. That's what he has on his record... Anyway. Deposit on the BT star forte card - 1000 EURO.
I think the deal was better than the original Ford or the Senatul. The Toyota had 14,000 km on the clock, I think it didn't have the year since it was on the streets.
Slightly hit in the back and scratched on one side. I took pictures, signed about the defects and that's it, I left the airport.
This car seemed to run on water. Minimal consumption. I drove 1100 km with it and it behaved impeccably.
On the way back, I had a flight at 8 in the morning. At 5 I washed the car (the nearby coin car wash - TAKAS I think) and I couldn't fill it up because both Petrolina stations near the airport were unstaffed at night and their pump gave me an error on Revolut.
I showed up to the guy with the parking lot with a quarter of a tank, he did a quick inspection of the car, I signed for the 2 initial defects and said it wasn't a problem, that the company would calculate how much I would have to pay for fuel.
Today I received the deposit back on the card, from which the amount of 56 euros was deducted (the invoice in the email with the fuel and a 9 euro fee - probably the fee for filling it up). I was also expecting a fee for the wash, because I couldn't make it shine at night, but that wasn't the case.
In conclusion, I recommend the company SIXT (Get your car). They don't have the brightest reviews, but in my case they were great.
I miss driving on the left :))
